This wedding had so much going on that we're going to have to physically list everything!
An outdoor humanist ceremony with hand-fasting
A legal ceremony in a room converted into an amazing indoor woodland complete with real grass floor
An easter egg hunt
A cake judging competition
A treasure hunt come giant puzzle
A live folk band and...
A flash mob first dance!
Lorraine & Jordan's wedding at Monk Fryston Hall just outside Leeds has to be one of the most unique wedding we've ever been to with so much attention to detail, it was incredible. Everything was kept a secret from the guests - even we weren't 100% sure of everything that was happening and had to simply go with the flow!
We started off the day with Lorraine getting ready in the morning. She had such lovely hints of woodland about her wedding look, from the ivy braided in her hair to her bespoke necklace made of real succulents. She wore a gorgeous beaded wedding gown too whilst Jordan went for tweedy woodland colours with a deep green cravat.
The day began with the outdoor humanist ceremony at Monk Fryston Hall. We learnt on the day that the outdoor space at Monk Fryston Hall is very rarely used at weddings but Lorraine & Jordan used it all and it was a huge amount of space! The ceremony was conducted by Lorraine's brother with a touching hand-fasting ceremony. They then headed inside for their amazing legal ceremony indoors with close family and friends. They had turned the room into a stunning indoor woodland with a fully turfed floor (yep, really!) complete with trees, plants and all manner of amazing details. The candlelit ceremony was a short but touchingly beautiful moment.
Lorrain & Jordan are known for their notoriously elaborate parties so it me as no surprise when the day was packed with entertainment and stuff to do for their guests. Complete with an easter egg hunt come find-your-own-wedding-favour which came complete with individually written messages to each guest. Following some speeches outdoors, whilst the band played guests were sent on another hunt to find pieces of a puzzle with maps and elaborate riddles which kept everyone entertained for a good long while! The final puzzle was a bespoke portrait of Lorraine & Jordan and a personal quote.
After a hearty barbeque and afternoon tea came the first dance which took place in the woodland room in Monk Fryston Hall. But this was no ordinary first dance as a whole choreographed flash mob dance took place with the whole wedding party taking everyone by surprise but was absolutely amazing!
There was so much planning and detail involved in Lorraine and Jordan's wedding we can't imagine how much effort went into it all but the results certainly speak for themselves!
