Suggesting a disused quarry for a pre-wedding shoot wouldn't normally arouse the most exciting reactions from the majority of people but Andy & Gemma were looking for something off-piste, a bit different and willing to push the boundaries a little. We'd talked about parks around Leeds but after we dropped the idea of this disused quarry we've known about for a while, there was a resounding 'YES!' from Andy & Gemma! So on a crisp, wintery January morning we trod the powdery snow into this great expanse with blue skies aplenty. Andy is a designer and a lover of contrasts and this place delivered it in spades. We braved the cold, the ice and the rocky landscape and produced some stunning and meaningful portraits, because after all, what is a photograph if it doesn't mean something to you.
