Where do we start with Eleanor and Dan's rustic country wedding in Lincolnshire at a little town (big village!?) called Binbrook. Well, firstly, let's start with how DIY everything was. Eleanor's sister, Jess, handmade the dress and bridesmaids dresses which were all individual and beautifully finished. On a side note, Jess is getting married this year and had thought she wasn't bothered about a wedding photographer until she saw our photos. Sadly we weren't available for Jess' wedding, as we'd have loved to have seen what she created for her own big day!
Eleanor got ready in a quirky family cottage, next door to the building they're renovating to become their own house later this year. The Chapel across the road owned by friends, also in the middle of renovation was the reception venue too. Before they got too deeply engrossed with the finishing details and furniture at the chapel, they so graciously allowed Eleanor and Dan to make use of their grand space. The community was a huge theme in their wedding with everyone giving a little bit of something to bring it all together and it really showed, it's DIY on the grandest scale and in all senses of the word!
Dan is a fireman in Binbrook and arrived at the church by fire engine (much to James' jealousy, because Lianne got to ride in it too!). They also had a Firemans Guard of Honour with all the local firemen as they exited the church together (don't worry - the station in the next town took over duties especially for the day). And a vintage fire engine was brought out just for the occasion too. Love it!
Eleanor and Dan set aside a nice relaxed portion of the day for portraits around the village with Dan making a quick change into his uniform for a few portraits. He'd longed for a traditional photo of a groom in uniform harking back to the 40's so we were all too happy to oblige. Relaxed documentary wedding photos are our thing, and we loved capturing all the laughs and smiles during speeches. And following another quick moonlit portrait session in the last glow of twilight, we joined the dancefloor for some of the most fun action shots of the season!
If you're having a relaxed rustic country wedding, drop us a line, we'd love to get involved!
