This was our first opportunity to be a Laskill House wedding photographer for Taisie and Ben's wedding in North Yorkshire and it's a fantastic little wedding venue! Taisie & Ben's wedding was truly DIY with plenty of flexibility afforded them by Mandy, the owner of Laskill Country House to do whatever they wanted. Getting ready in the cottages and main house it was all a very relaxed morning. As Taisie and Ben got married and guests spilling outside, with the I-do's said it was out onto the terrace for drinks and nibbles followed by confetti. We made time for some fun, quick group photos before taking Taisie and Ben for a mid-afternoon break and to make some portraits. It's always a nice time to take stock of the whirlwind that just happened and a perfect time to re-connect after spending the night apart.
Back at the house, friends and family laughed and drank, enjoyed music and then headed across the road into the field where their marquee awaited. Just in time too as the heavens opened as the speeches began but the day quickly brightened up again for the rest of the day. We loved all the little touches Taisie and Ben had made, especially all their cards to each other that were hung up in the marquee. From birthdays to anniversaries to valentines day cards, they were all there with heartfelt (and often hilarious) messages inside. As the pizza oven churned out the food, the guests relaxed and drank as the sun came back out again before hitting the dance floor to party into the night.
