We're pretty much regulars at The Faversham in Leeds; it's gone from the club we used to fall out of at 3am to our most popular city centre wedding venue. Never in our uni days would we have thought we'd be working here on the regular and in what turned out to be such a gorgeous wedding venue!
We caught up with Steve as he set up in the conservatory in the morning and with Laura and the bridesmaids a stones throw away. Absolutely loved having their jack russell in on the preps as well - we've said it before and we'll say it again, nothing beats dogs at weddings! Laura and Steve got married in the conservatory, one of the few conservatory wedding venues in the Yorkshire area. This was followed by a walk back down the aisle led by their pup!
Drinks and canapes were supplemented by Ollie Parker, an awesome close up magician. As we're regulars at The Faversham, it's always nice to try something new for portraits and there's so much on the doorstep that we're always spoilt for choice. From cobbled streets to brutalist architecture to fields of green. It offers everything from the urban, to the seemingly rural within just a few minutes' walk. We opted for portraits on St George's field on the university campus with pup in tow and made use of the lovely sunshine.
Speeches back at The Faversham were lovely and informal in between a stonkingly good meal. During the evening room-turnaround we took 5 minutes out for a quick breather and a few night time portraits. It's always the point where we can get a bit experimental and try new ideas. Lianne and I often spend a great deal of time during the meal playing with ideas and testing areas and lighting so we can nail it in just a couple of minutes in the evening. There's a lot that goes into these things behind the scenes!
Also, check out that light-up dancefloor! It was packed all evening! And what a first dance! Thanks for having us along guys 🙂
