Menolly & James both started their wedding day on a crisp winter morning in Leeds. James started his morning writing his speech whilst Menolly was upstaged by the cat who wanted to be in all the photos! But before long they arrived at the frankly fantastic, brand new rustic barn wedding venue, The Normans in York.
As they wanted to make the most of the daylight that winter offers, Menolly and James opted for a first look before their ceremony. A chance to break from tradition and enjoy a moment of quiet together before heading in to be wed. The Normans is by no means short of amazing places for that industrial, working farm wedding look - which suits us right down to the ground. Textures, sheds, light, brickwork, fields - it's got it all! And the ceremony barn is absolutely stunning with it's huge ceilings and beautiful lighting by fairy lights- oh those fairy lights! - and candles.
After the ceremony and group family photos, everybody huddled together in the cow shed/break out room with steamy mulled wine. Sometimes winter weddings are just a little bit perfect when you get to be all toasty! Followed by speeches the evening turned its attention to the party. Menolly & James' first dance was followed by Greek dancing for the Greek side of the family. It's always fun to be in the middle of the circle shooting all the happy faces with the Greeks!
The day was punctuated with amazing food as ever by Hog & Apple and the most lovely hosts Oliver & Laura of The Normans.
