Priory Cottages Wedding Photos - Andrew and Josh
Ahh Priory Cottages, my home from home. I absolutely love it here, one of my all time favourite wedding venues with the best wedding team in the business. I can’t speak highly enough of it and whenever I hear of a couple on the hunt for a Yorkshire venue I tell them to have a look around Priory Cottages!
Priory Barn and Cottages is a working farm near Wetherby. I love that it has an ever changing landscape of backdrops depending on the time of year. It never looks the same twice and always makes for unique photos. Named due to its proximity to Syningthwaite Priory it has been home of the Rawlings family since the 1920s.
Over the years the family turned part of the outbuildings - the Barn and Courtyard as well as the farm cottages - into the friendly, relaxed wedding venue it is today.

Andrew and Josh were both getting ready in the on site cottages. It was a very chilled out morning and I had a lovely time wandering back and forth between their two cottages and enjoying all the laughter and fun they were having with their family and friends. A lot of champagne corks were popped and the fizz was flowing. Everyone was ready for a big old celebration!
It’s just a short stroll across the courtyard from the cottages to the Barn, where their ceremony was taking place. All their guests were gathered inside, chattering away until the music started and Andrew and Josh walked down the aisle, each on the arm of their proud Mums. I have to admit, I might have had something in my eye during the ceremony. In fact, I think everyone did! It got a bit emotional! Happy tears though, I can assure you! As they were announced as officially married Josh punched the air with delight and we all cheered.
Rustic Yorkshire wedding venue
Andrew and Josh emerged from the ceremony into the arms of their loved ones. They were hugged, kissed and hugged some more before we managed to sneak away for a few portraits of the two of them. This was the perfect time for them to have a breather and spend a bit of time together. We made the most of the incredible landscapes before stopping off at the priory doorway for a few photos.
Inside the marquee everyone was ready for the speeches. Now, wedding tradition dictates that speeches are mostly male led. Fathers, Best Men, grooms…but I can’t be doing with too much tradition and neither can Andrew and Josh. It was time for the women to take centre stage! Andrew’s mum gave a heartfelt speech about them both before their bridesmaids stood up and, en masse, spoke hilariously about their best friends. I’ve not laughed so hard in ages!
I’m back at Priory Cottages again this year and I can’t wait. For now, enjoy the highlights from Andrew and Josh’s day and, as ever, if you’re looking for an LGBT wedding photographer in Leeds then I would love to hear from you.
