Today marks new beginnings for many. Lots of couple can now say 'we're getting married this year!' now we're into 2017, but 2016 was yet another fantastic year of weddings for us. We spent it with old friends and made new ones along the way. We're always completely humbled that our couples choose us to document their wedding day, one of the most important days in their lives, and they place complete faith and trust in us. Wedding days are a roller-coaster of emotions; trepidation, elation, exhaustion (possibly in that exact order!) and we're there for the whole ride. It still puts the butterflies in our stomachs before every wedding, keeping us on our toes, looking for every possible moment worth to be remembered forever - it really is the best job we could hope for!
As always, our favourite thing is dogs at weddings but we've also seen a wave of outdoor and festival weddings, a focus on colour, and - dare we say it - maturer couples getting married. Weddings this year have felt as though they are less about tradition and more a focus on sealing a relationship in a way that fits the couple. In whatever shape and form a wedding comes, we're still overwhelmed that we're welcomed into peoples days, their families and their homes to become a part of it as well.
Thank you 2016, you delivered us some unforgettable moments. And here's to 2017, we're about to ride this roller-coaster with a whole new bunch of you!
We'd like to thank old friends and practically second homes: East Riddlesden Hall, The Priory, The Faversham and Leeds Town Hall. And we'd also like to thank (and recommend) some fantastic new venues we've been a part of this year too: Wharfedale Grange, Yorebridge House, Natural Retreats, Yorkshire Wedding Barn, Tanfield House and The Normans.
