Emma & Scotty's barn wedding in Cumbria was always going to be a nail-biter for us as Emma is also a wedding photographer. We've been lucky enough to shoot another wedding photographers wedding before and we had an absolute blast, but the pressure is always on!

They held the very first wedding, ever, in the gorgeous Aikbank Barn at Aikbank Cottages near Kirkby Lonsdale. We had to drive down the narrowest roads that were more grass than road in order to find it and it's remote location added to it's charm, set in the rolling hills of Cumbria it's a venue we'd love to come back to!

Being a Kiwi boy and British girl, they'd already tied the knot a few months earlier in New Zealand and brought the celebration back over to us back in England. They had a blessing in the lovely St John's Church in Hutton Roof before heading off down to a local saw mill for wedding portraits amongst the acres of stacked logs which made for a fantastic backdrop! We then all headed back to Aikbank barn for drinks, and more photos around the amazing out buildings which just oozed texture and rustic charm. Emma's brother rolled a GoPro video of the New Zealand leg of the wedding which brought a few tears and lots of laugh. We then partied into the night inside the barn with a packed dancefloor and everyone having the best time, and so did we - we loved every minute of this wedding!
