We've come a long way this year without going far. We kept it local; no international weddings, connecting with our fellow Yorkshire folk. We embraced the English weather with abandon, we celebrated in tipis, partied in grand halls and immersed ourselves into the atmosphere of every wedding. We became recommended photographers at two Yorkshire venues and we're happy to be celebrating our grass roots. That's not to say we kept it solely in Yorkshire though. We ventured out to St Pancras in London twice, took our first trip to the flats of Lincolnshire and into the hills of the Lake District and loved every minute of it!

Just as we did last year in 2013 we focused on the people. Epic shots with huge landscapes certainly featured in our work this year as always, but we've always been firm believers in making stories, getting intimate images and capturing the love of family and friends. You all told us that this is what's most important in your wedding photography and we believe it too - it's become the core of what we do.

We've not only been capturing weddings this year, we broke out into family photography which is something we're exploring more next year because it's incredibly fun. We've also been a part of a group of 70 of the UK's top wedding photographers who we've come to value so much. We've hung out with them, shared ideas and together we think we've really helped the industry grow and become a fantastic place to be a part of.

2014 has definitely been about connecting - with people, photographers, couples, families, our home and ourselves.
