Meet Sarah & Steven, they're awesome. They're getting married next month in Ripon at one of our favourite wedding venues. If their wedding day is anything like their relaxed, fun attitude, it's going to be a great day! We met up for the engagement shoot in Knaresborough on a cold winter morning. We took in the sights of the river and the castle before heading down the alleyways, chasing the light and getting some gorgeous atmospheric shots of the two of them. We love doing engagement shoots and would recommend them to anyone. We enjoy them for two reasons. First, it's a great way for us to get to know each other and a way for us to figure out what works for you as a couple and what doesn't; after all, all couples are different in front of the camera and we don't want to give you cookie-cutter photos, we want to make them about you. It helps you get comfortable in front of the camera and works out all those nerves before the big day, making sure you get the best out of your wedding day photos. And secondly, it's great just to have photos of the two of you! How many of us make the time to get photos of ourselves together - besides the arms-length selfie!? Sarah & Steven started off as all our couples do, a little bit nervous, self-conscious and awkward. Within half an hour they were completely relaxed and having fun even in front of all the old ladies doing their market shopping and we made some beautiful photos of them together.
