Chris is an old pal of ours from both high school and art school, who subsequently met the amazing Liz. And after a swift half and pouring over some albums down at the local, they invited us to shoot their wedding. We obviously couldn't say no!
Needless to say, it was an eventful start to a wedding which transpired to leave Liz with less than an hour to get ready. We were certainly impressed with how quickly everyone works when under pressure. They got married at Holy Name of Jesus in Cookridge before heading to the amazing Rudding Park near Harrogate for drinks and canapes with a jazz band adding to the nice fun and relaxed afternoon.
James got to play the overly enthusiastic chauffeur for the portraits, whizzing around the grounds on a golf buggy (perks of the job!). We made use of the fish pond and gorgeous early summer colours of the grounds. Chris and Liz had already had practiced being in front of the camera at their engagement shoot so we knew that to get the best photos we just had to let them be them. No posing, nothing contrived, just honest to goodness relaxed portraits - belly laughs a-plenty!
Back at the house were some seriously emotional speeches. Afterwards we enjoyed one last 5 minute portrait session in the setting sun before letting the two of them get back to the party. Thanks for having us guys, we had a blast!
