If you're going for a videographer as well as photographer at your wedding, possibly building your camera-wielding crew up to four people, you may wonder how well that will actually work on the day, and it's something we get asked regularly too. So how well will your photographer and videographer work together? Our goal as your photographers is to be as invisible as possible. We work as a husband and wife wedding photography duo but we're constantly separated throughout the day so you'll hopefully rarely spot us together as we work around your friends and family on the day capturing all the little moments you'll likely miss. With videographers on the scene as well, that invisibility becomes a little more... visible. If 'unobtrusive' is the name of the game, this is the one problem you may encounter. Photographers and videographers will typically want to be in the exact same spot at every key moment of the day. During the ceremony for example there's always a sweet spot for the best view for photos and videos and it's often a very tiny sweet spot! That said, any problems or negotiating for space will never come back to you and will just be professional discussions between both teams. However, it is worth remembering that during these key moments, the first dance being another example, that compromises may have to be made between both teams so that we each get what you'll be expecting. This can include compromises on lighting, and points of view so as to avoid crossing into each other's shots. It's a difficult, chess-like game but we'll always be communicating with your videographers to get the best we possibly can for both teams. It's not all negotiations though, inviting videographers into your day can open up whole new levels of creativity having more brains, eyes and visions to form a collaborative hive-mind can land you with some extraordinarily stunning results and this is one thing we love about working with videographers... the creative juices become super charged! We're each looking for something slightly different and that can lead to experimentation and a generally, all-round better set of photos and video. Our main advice is to ask us for recommendations for videography and we'll be happy to let you know who we trust and work well with and especially those videographers out there who offer amazing service and quality too.
