Where do we begin with this amazing wedding!!? Keeley & Johnny's wedding at Castle Farm in Knaresborough, an exclusive wedding venue for only a handful of weddings a year had all the festival vibes and good times you could ask for in a relaxed farm wedding. Hidden off the road by a long winding path you'd never know this rustic farm wedding venue was here, but boy-oh-boy is it gorgeous!
The morning started in the heart of Knaresborough with Keeley writing her vows and enjoying the beautiful weather as guests gathered for the bus outside. Johnny, meanwhile was climbing on his groomsmen to put those final finishing touches to the barn! Having got the legal ceremony completed earlier in the week, Keeley & Johnny were free to have the ceremony they wanted and who better to conduct it than their wonderful friend and Yorkshire legend, Harry Gration. He was a natural celebrant, and we wish we could take him to every wedding ceremony! He really knows how to bring the good times and humour to a wedding ceremony.
With the hugs and happy tears and hearty congratulations concluded, the guests went outside into the open hay barn for drinks and and an amazing selection of canapes from tacos to pasties and everything in between whilst basking in the glorious sun. We simply had to take advantage of the farm and took Keeley & Johnny on a short walk around the corn fields and industrial buildings, seeking out the best light and wonderful backdrops to make some extra special photos of our lovely newlyweds.
Inside, the barn was set up just as you'd expect for these two - colourful, festival vibes with a good touch of Yorkshire. The addition of two tractors was the icing on the cake for a farm venue and has to be unique to Castle Farm! A slew of heartfelt and funny speeches later (and one crying dad... who doesn't love a crying dad!!) and a slap-up meal of stone baked pizzas for true informality and the afternoon flowed into the evening. As the light got lower, we took Keeley & Johnny into the cut flower field which was used to supplement the wonderful arrangements by Leafy Couture. And with the farm cat having just had a litter of kittens, they made an appearance in the portraits too!
There was no first dance, Johnny just got dancing! Everyone joined in. It was organic, uncontrived and was just a sign of everyone enjoying themselves. And with WedFest day one rounding off, Johnny and his best man finished with a song with everyone joining in. It was magical!
If you're planning a Castle Farm Knaresborough Wedding, or a rustic farm wedding anywhere in Yorkshire, we'd love to hear from you.
