Charlotte & Eddy's wedding at Standedge Tunnel was an awesome, relaxed day with good food, plenty of booze and good times. Charlotte got ready with her bridesmaids and family at the hidden gem that is Tyas Cottage, close to Standedge. You would never know this amazing little place is here, hidden down it's overgrown, long forgotten lane. Arriving into an oasis of a garden with grape vines scrambling over the cottage it's an idyllic little spot. Eddy, meanwhile got ready at home before jumping on the train to Marsden with his groomsmen to hit the ale trail. The Marsden Shuttle canal boat ferried people up and down the canal before making a final trip with Charlotte and her girls down the serene, fern lined waters. Yeah, you could walk faster, but the boat is much more fun!! Guests enjoyed ice cream on arrival (because who doesn't love the fun of an impromptu ice cream!) before heading into the newly refurbished top floor attic for the ceremony. With I-do's exchanged, it's back to more celebratory ice cream and prosecco too! We kept group photos casual, making sure everyone could go back to enjoying the sun and ice cream whilst Charlotte and Eddy took a quick stroll down the canal for a few photos together. It's always nice to have a breather at this point, and actually take a moment to say hello to each other; chatting about each other's mornings and giggling over all the flubbed lines! Speeches and a nice relaxed meal of an enormous range of bbq foods (seriously, there was everything from pulled pork tacos to hot dogs to burgers to shawarma kebabs!). We love informal weddings where everyone gets to dig in, enjoy the sun when they want to, the booze is free flowing and everyone gets to enjoy themselves. And they did... into the evening as the sun set behind the hills and we grabbed a few more quick photos of the happy couple in the golden sunlight. They were led into their first dance by the AMAZING Kickstarts who played an ace mix of 90s and 00s stuff with huge energy and were genuinely one of the best bands we've ever seen! Such a great day and we can't thank these smiling happy people enough for inviting us to be a part of it all.
