It's time for our annual personal post! Once a year we like to break things up a little and share a few photos from our travels and adventures from mostly off-season jaunts. A lot happened over the past 12 months. We bought and started renovating our first house which has taken up most of our time (and money) so whilst we've not been abroad this year, we've been all over the country on weekend breaks. We also celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary in a yurt in Wensleydale, a stones throw from Aysgarth Falls. With our wood fired hot tub in the woods and listening to the owls at night, it was a lovely little getaway. Our ever-present allotment takes up most of our summer evenings, reaping our bounty. It's definitely a labour of love but because we love to cook, having fresh produce like this can't be beaten. It's also a great place to sit in the orchard, break out the barbecue and enjoy the summer evenings. We visited Northumberland to celebrate a big family birthday and stayed in the forests, enjoying the dark skies and tranquility. Rabbits hopping around and forests that look like they've been untouched since prehistoric times, it was utterly enjoyable. We could have stayed and photographed all year it was so beautiful. We also stayed on a farm in North Wales and took our brand new puppy! Yes, we have a new addition to our family named Lily and she's the type of dog you dread to walk in public because everybody stops to cuddle her! She's a stubborn little bugger but she learns quickly, super friendly and will do anything for cuddle time. She loved her stay on the farm in Wales, especially the freedom of the beach but has yet to brave the water! We also went fossil hunting Whitby and visited lots of gardens and secret spaces. And as always, we shoot all our personal work on analogue film. It's not just for the gorgeous quality of it, but it also alleviates the tendency to shoot away and instantly forget about the images. When our film scans come back 2-3 weeks later (from our ever so talented friends at CFL), we relive the joy of these images knowing that we picked those moments carefully knowing we only have a limited number of frames per roll.
