2019 has seen a huge increase of weddings in galleries and art spaces. We've enjoyed shooting at The Tetley, a gallery come wedding venue in Leeds on multiple occasions this year and loved it, and today we're The Hepworth as Helen & Josh's wedding photographers. It's a stunning building showcasing architecture as much as it does art and it's a photographic playground. We met up with Helen a stones throw away in Wakefield whilst Josh readied himself at the gallery. As guests arrived, we loved the 'looking at art' stance everyone adopts - it did make us giggle! It's funny watching people look at art, we all end up with the same body language of 'thinking'! The gallery is full of big rooms, clean white walls and sculptural masterpieces and Josh waited patiently with the best woman for Helen and her dad to walk down the aisle. Following a beautiful ceremony and touching readings it was outside into the sun and the the brand new garden. It's in its infancy, but this garden is sure to look stunning come next year and will be a perfect space for holding a drinks reception. We then made use of the architectural concrete, blue sky and steel to make beautiful bright portraits of Helen and Josh. The afternoon progressed to the intimate reception room for speeches and a joint speech between Helen & Josh. It's a beautiful way to acknowledge your gratitude to friends and family together and we're all for brides making speeches too. As the light began to disappear, we planned out a final epic photo of Helen & Josh. It took quite a bit of planning as we could see from outside where we wanted to take the photo and get our happy couple to stand in a specific gallery window but could we figure out which window that was from inside... nope! Haha! It was worth all the effort in the end!
