We were so honoured to photograph Cath and Angus' wedding in Halifax. They're a very talented duo of songwriters and musicians and do great work in leading worship in Halifax and beyond. They had their wedding at Halifax Minster and Cath composed her own music to walk down the aisle. Just amazing! It was a real privilege to shoot at Halifax Minster and we've never seen a congregation so huge which is testament to how well loved these two are in the community. No one really knew how many people came to the ceremony but if you'd have told us it was 400, we'd believe you! Many songs and praise later, the congregation led out for cake and tea and congratulations in the Minster grounds. It was nice for them to put on a mini-reception for the ceremony guests before taking their family and friends down the road to the main reception in a huge garden marquee. With stunning views over Halifax, it was a fantastic spot. These two are very hands on people and in the wind and rain of the morning Cath was out their putting up the catering tent! There's nothing they can't do! Thankfully the weather brightened up even if it was still a little cold and breezy. We loved their DIY ethic, with parents pouring drinks, friends and family bringing cakes and all with a can do attitude. Dad's comedically large wedding speech led us into the speeches and of course, the day wouldn't be complete without plenty of music. The evening kicked off with Cath and Angus' first dance which sprang into a flash mob with their family and friends performing a perfectly choreographed routine. It was so much fun shooting their wedding and we were beaming with smiles as we looked back through their photos to write this blog post 🙂
