There's nothing like a farm wedding, but when it's in the backdrop of the most magnificent natural attraction in Yorkshire, Malham Cove, it's a little bit extra special! Amy & James got married at St Michael the Archangel in Kirkby Malham after a super-relaxed autumn morning of preparations. Amy and the bridesmaids even had enough spare time after getting ready to muck about in the leaves... when does that ever happen on a wedding day!? Speaking of autumn, the colour scheme and decorations for Amy and James' wedding was a riot of autumn colours and textures. We love a wedding that embraces the seasons. James made time for a beer in the local before awaiting his bride. They exited to the Yorkshire tradition of untying the lychgate, one of the few local traditions that we're slowly seeing making a comeback and we love that it's (predominantly) a Yorkshire wedding tradition! Whilst guests made it through the wind, rain and mud to the marquee on Malham show ground, Amy and James headed up to the foot of Malham Cove, the spot where James proposed, for photos together. They were absolute troopers to battle the weather the way they did, but then they're made of tougher stuff up here in the Yorkshire Dales! With everyone huddled inside back in the marquee, and the weather changing from gales to rainbows in the blink of an eye, the last of the formalities was concluded with the speeches. Amy & James ceremoniously cut the cake with a sword (not a Yorkshire tradition as far as we're aware!!) which was a cake of cheeses on a stand specially crafted by James for the occasion.
