We might be Yorkshire folk but occasionally we're tempted out of the county for some really good weddings! India & Tom's Wedding at Chelsea Physic Garden was too good to pass up!
India and Tom both got ready in Chelsea before their ceremony at Chelsea Old Church, a church that dates all the way back to the Dark Ages and has been here (in one form or another since the 8th Century). Henry VIII worshipped here along with many other Kings and Queens over the centuries. And as an art history buff, James was particularly excited to be in the presence of a tomb designed by Bernini himself! It's a grand and historical building just yards from the Thames and was really rather special to be shooting there.
After India and Tom dashed into their vintage taxi to their wedding reception at Chelsea Physic Garden, the guests were lead by a brass band as they marched them down the road. Anyone who knows us and follows our personal instagram account will know how much we love a bit of gardening, so spending the day at Chelsea Physic Garden was a real plus for us! Tom is a keen veg grower himself, so we were in good company.
As guests filed in and the pink champagne flowed we enjoyed a few portraits in the gardens before heading inside for speeches. The grounds of Chelsea Physic Garden are a dream to shoot in, from the imposing achitectural backdrops to the sculptural tree ferns to areas where you feel like you could be lost in the Greek countryside. It's a glorious spot for a wedding reception.
Despite Tom's promise in his speech that he and his new wife would be home in bed ready in time to watch Gardener's World, the dancefloor was full for hours! We had a great time partying with them and loved every minute of this London wedding!
