First of all, if you haven't seen it, take a look at Derek & Paul's engagement shoot on their farm. It was a beaut! Second, let us tell you about how bloomin' gorgeous the view from their farm is and why it's the perfect setting for their wedding. Look at it. Just look at it.... we can wait. Stunning isn't it!? From high up at the top of the farm, the finishing touches were being added down at the marquee below. With the ceremony venue at The Plough at Lupton also visible from here, it's amazing to look out your window and see all of this as your wedding venue. What could be better than a farm wedding Cumbria?
Derek and Paul got ready together at home on the farm. We love when couples get ready together. Dressing each other, doing each others ties, it's those special moments that are unique to getting ready together than can be some of the most touching. With close family and friends assembling, it was down the hill to The Plough for their ceremony. Drinks and photos overlook the moor kept us entertained until heading to church at lunchtime for a blessing. Derek and Paul just laughed and cried tears of happiness all day long but always smiling. And when they got together for a few photos together, the love just oozed out of them!
Back at the marquee, perfectly situated to take in that view, drinks and conversation flowed whilst the rattle of clay pigeon shooting peppered the reception. Rain may have stopped play a little but who cares when it's time for meal and speeches. There were some real tear jerkers and some belly laugh- inducing speeches; the perfect mix! As evening rolled in, the limbo dancing commenced as did the ceilidh. It never ceases to amuse us photographing a dance floor of drunk people all trying to stay coordinated!!
We had such an amazing day with an amazing couple and their family and friends.
And if you recognise Emma & Scotty from their Cumbria wedding at Figtree House, you can relive their wedding here!
