Jo and Dan got married at Natural Retreats in Richmond, North Yorkshire. We don't know how this place never came onto our radar before as it's absolutely our favourite kind of venue with it's mix of natural, outdoor living with all the comforts of stylish, mid-century-modern influenced furniture. The valley of Natural Retreats hosts all their amazing cabins which is where Jo and Dan got ready. We love how relaxed their day was and it was great to see Jo getting buttoned into her dress (by four people no less!) on the deck of her cabin. Natural Retreats has - by it's very name - a connection with nature and it's perfect for anyone who wants to have a relaxed wedding and get some natural images surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales. Back at the top of the valley sits the converted barn or 'The Sanctuary'. Dan waited patiently for his new bride as guests congregated behind him. After a quick group hug Jo was stood by his side for their lovely ceremony. With a thunderous applause they were outside to a huge confetti parade and enjoyed drinks and canapes overlooking the valley. After some group photos, we took Jo and Dan for a fifteen minute breather and some photos of themselves around the woodland and in the pretty little yellow flowers that are all around the venue which we would later learn had the unattractive name of 'gorse'! Still, they look great in the photos! And we haven't even mentioned the gorgeous weather we had! The sun shone beautifully all day and made it a really fantastic venue for an outdoor wedding! After speeches, a pub quiz and a hearty meal, Jo and Dan took to the stage themselves in lieu of a first dance - they're in a band together... they're just too cool these two! And as the late summer night rolled in, we headed off into the sunset.
