Tucked away on an industrial estate, behind a busy main road, you’ll find one of the best kept secrets in Leeds. A hidden gem in the world of wedding venues, New Craven Hall is an urban and unique space that is ideal for couples looking for something unconventional and different. It was the perfect spot for Di and Jonathan to get married - stylish and untraditional sums the two of them up and I can’t think of any better words to describe New Craven Hall either!
Industrial chic wedding at New Craven Hall
With exposed brick walls and hundreds of fairy lights strung from the metal beams the interior of New Craven Hall doesn’t need a load of bells and whistles or added decorations in order to look fantastic. The beauty of the space is that it is a blank canvas so couples can really stamp their personalities all over it - or keep design elements to a minimum if that works best for them. Di and Jonathan decorated their tables with peacock feathers, monstera leaves and geometric vases which added pops of colour to the room. Their own flowers - Jonathan’s buttonhole and Di’s incredible floral crown - offset their outfits perfectly. Jonathan was looking cool and dapper in his dark suit complete with undone bow tie while Di looked amazing in a long sleeved wedding dress covered with hundreds of tiny pearls. She was escorted down the aisle by her two very proud sons. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room when the three of them walked in!
Leeds City Centre wedding
Following the ceremony Di and Jonathan had a minute to themselves to take everything in before walking into their reception to cheers from their family and friends. After some hilarious speeches - check out that personalised number plate - we made the most of the dry weather (never to be taken lightly in Yorkshire!) and went outside for some photographs. These two are so fun loving and we didn’t stop giggling as we took some family photos and then whisked them away for a bit of a wander to get some very urban portraits. Di and Jonathan had bought some smoke bombs especially for their wedding photos - purple of course to match their wedding flowers. There was oodles of laughter as the smoke bombs were set off and the two of them danced around in the purple haze. Di’s youngest son came running in to photobomb the two of them which set his mum off, Di was almost crying with laughter as he looked on cheekily.
I’m a huge fan of weddings at New Craven Hall, no two days are ever the same and Di and Jonathan’s was no exception. It was so utterly them in every single way and I still grin now when I look back at the photos. Here are some of my favourites...
