Jen and Sean had an amazing wedding day at a quiet, little known wedding venue of Saltmarshe Hall just outside of Howden in East Yorkshire. And it truly is a hidden gem! It boasts beautiful scenery, a gorgeously presented house with the right hint of modern (we're always fond of a venue with a Sonos in every room!) and it's right on the banks of the Humber estuary.
Jen, a Yorkshire lass and Sean a Scottish lad both live in Oz but came back to Howden to celebrate their marriage. Sean got ready at the cottages at Saltmarshe whilst Jen got ready at her parents close by. Make sure you pause for the emotional first look from dad! There was also a fantastic present from Sean in the morning, a personal video message from everyone at the Williams F1 team for superfan Jen! It was so good, she watched it twice! And with a fleet of VW campers and a fully spruced up Land Rover for the bride, they were off to get married at Sacred Heart Church in Howden. This was our second wedding in Howden, the first being a wedding at Howden Minster, an equally stunning place to get married in East Yorkshire. We loved how Jen and Sean themed their wedding, epsically with the flowers, the Yorkshire Rose meeting the Scottish Thistle.
Back at Saltmarshe hall, Jen and Sean had erected a Boutipi tipi in the grounds and kicked off the speeches with the ceremonial sabrage of a Champagne bottle. After portraits in the grounds and with views of the wide river estuary we captured the amazing party into the evening and rounded off the day beautifully.
