For a venue known for it's intimate weddings, we were amazed when Rachel and Dave told us about their plans for a sperry tent wedding at The Star Inn in Harome. We thought 'Really!? Is that even possible!?' The Star Inn, for us, has always been for tiny weddings of under 40 guests, nestled into their cosy piggery so Rachel and Dave's plans for 140 guests came as somewhat of a surprise. But we have to say, hats off to The Star Inn, as they delivered and delivered exceedingly well as we've come to expect. Here's what happened... We met up with Rachel and her bridesmaids at Cross House lodge, The Star Inn's accommodation, with it's gorgeous wisteria flowering beautifully outside. Harome has a sleepy village vibe but it also seems to have a real buzz about it and an air of quality and luxury. And with good reason, The Star Inn with it's michelin star quality food sits in the heart of the village and just beyond is The Pheasant where Dave was getting ready with his family. With all the final preparations complete, it was time to board the buses to head to the church in Pickering. It was a lovely setting to see two families become one. A short bus journey back to Harome and it was time for drinks and celebrations! Rachel and Dave really wanted to keep formalities to an absolute minimum. From just a few quick group photos that you can count on one hand to just a brief walk for portraits together, they just wanted us to do what we do and keep it documentary style. We really love being there to just document things and let our couples just enjoy themselves.... it always makes for the best photos! Being relaxed, it afforded us plenty of opportunities to capture all their guests having fun in the sun, laughing and playing garden games. After speeches and amazing food by the Star Inn it was straight into the first dance with everyone on the dancefloor. Dad even through some shapes! It was great to see The Star Inn in a whole new light and an absolute joy for us to photograph Rachel and Dave's big Sperry Tent wedding in their grounds.
