Amy & Richard's heartwarmingly family-orientated Swan Hotel Newby Bridge wedding was an absolute joy to photograph. We love weddings in the Lake District, it's a glorious part of the world to get married. Not to mention the fact that James was super jealous of Lianne joining in the groomsmen's adventure trip to make it to the ceremony. They started off from Bowness-in-Windermere and took a trip by boat across the lake before continuing by steam train to Newby Bridge. What an awesome way for the guys to start a wedding day! Meanwhile, at The Swan Hotel, a lovely, quirkily decorated wedding venue, James was in the hustle and bustle of bridal preparations, jam packed with kids and family getting ready!
Their ceremony was held in the gorgeous ballroom overlooking the river before Amy, Rich and their two kids all walked back up the aisle together as a family - a lovely touch! A lack of formality was the order of the day, so we arranged a few quick unposed portraits and some speedy group photos. Nothing forced, just honest, happy family photos. With an emphasis on fun everyone spent the afternoon out on the terrace by the river enjoying drinks and canapes as we mingled capturing all the fun as it unfolded. There was no shortage of smiles all day long.
With speeches in the conservatory, the evening spilled out into the club room ready for the cutting of the cake and the first dance. Amy and Rich were alby assited by their sun with their cake cutting before we caught him sneakily scoffing the cake to himself in the corner - we love these photos!! Amy & Rich's first dance erupted with a surprise DJ & Sax combo who took the party into the night.
