Tom & Catherine's wedding at The Faversham in Leeds was one of those rare days where everything comes together just perfectly; stunning light, warm weather, utterly in love couple, fantastic venue. This wedding at The Faversham was truly a highlight of the summer.
Tom began his day getting ready with all his childhood mates whilst Catherine and the girls got ready just around the corner at home. Whilst Tom made the short walk to the church (downing their beers before getting there!), Catherine opted for one of very few stretch VW beetles in world! It was certainly the biggest Beetle we'd ever seen! The ceremony at St Urban's Church in Headingley was soundtracked by the chattering of the flower girls, obsessed with their dresses and flowers 🙂
With all the I-do's done, hymns sung and registers signed it was outside into the sun for confetti before a few quick photos across the road. We don't like to drag our couples away from all the fun with their guests so a quick recce by us earlier in the day uncovered a little ginnel that offered all the good light and lush backdrops we needed for 2 minutes of quick photos. Then it was straight into the car to The Faversham.
Like most people our age, we have very fond memories of drunken nights in The Faversham back in our uni days. So it's no wonder so many late 20s / early 30s couples get married here as it's got so many happy memories (at least the ones we can remember). It's also a super-central location for a wedding and has so many options for photos too. From brutalist architecture to huge open urban expanses to Edwardian brickwork and even gardens and greenery. It's a little sweetshop of options for your wedding photos!
After the guests had got a few beers in (and the infamous explosive brie balls!), it was time for a few quick informal photos. We never try to take these too seriously but we know how important they are. We keep them light and fun and above everything else, quick so you can go back to enjoying yourselves and mingling.
Speeches were in the gorgeous conservatory which is always a favourite for us as it gets the best light. As the day wound down it's formalities, the drinking games and laughter picked up. And as the summer sun turned golden we had to make the most of it finding an overgrown front garden of a university building for some of the most gorgeous sunset photos that you wouldn't believe were on the university campus!
If you're planning a wedding at The Faversham, drop us a line - we're very experienced in all it has to offer and love it just as much as you! We'd love to work with you.
