We've had so many weddings at the end of our 2017 season that have fully embraced the changing of the seasons but none so quite like Tom & Katie's wedding at Blossom Barn in Holmfirth. They managed to seamlessly blend autumn themes with bonfire night and even introduce a bit of Christmas with their mulled wine drinks reception. We met with them in Holmfirth to start off the day ahead of their ceremony at All Hallows Church in Almondbury.
Whilst their guests made their way to the reception at Blossom Barn, we got ahead of everyone else and squeezed out some portraits of Tom & Katie before the guests arrived. The weather was distinctly wintery but these two were smiles the whole while through. We had to make use of that massive Yorkshire backdrop (and a few of the cows, after all it is a farm wedding!) before heading back in to warm up with mulled wine. Guests trickled in with their wedding bake-off submissions in hand. Blossom Barn is on a working farm high up in Holmfirth with gorgeous views and a cosy barn for wedding receptions. It's the sister venue to the Applewood Wedding venue in Leeds so you know you're in for an intimate, rustic setting!
As guests moved into the barn, Katie's sister commenced the speeches before tucking into the wedding breakfast. The night rolled in and guests gathered around the firepit, toasting marshmallows and waving sparklers. We sneaked out as the dregs of sunlight crept back over the hills and we made some portraits under the festoon lights as Tom & Katie huddled together for warmth. We just love this time of year, the smells, the flavours, it's just such a lovely time of year to get married and Tom & Katie brought all of that together for one heck of a wedding!
