On what was the rainiest wedding of the year, Rachel and Lance never flinched at the weather and just enjoyed their day with big beaming smiles on their faces! We caught up with Rachel at Quebecs in Leeds City Centre where she and her bridesmaids were getting ready. Meanwhile Lance collected their very own lovingly restored vintage bus and brought it to Leeds... via The Northern Monk for a swift half. They finally came together for their wedding ceremony in The Albert Room at Leeds Town Hall where Lance even did his own reading .
After plenty of hugs and congratulations everyone made a quick dash out into the street to the waiting bus which Lance drove himself. And once everyone arrived, what better way to convince yourself that it's sunny than free ice-cream for everybody!?
Whilst everyone tucked in - and dried off - Rachel and Lance hopped aboard the empty bus for some nice relaxed portraits of the two of them. Meanwhile, a last minute flower escapade had all the family pitching in and discovering the flower arranging skills they never knew they had! In all honesty, creativity was flowing and it all looked great in the empty gin and bourbon bottles. The Faversham is a great venue for weddings, whatever the weather. The conservatory is a stunning setting for speeches and wedding breakfast but feels strangely familiar and homely at the same time - perhaps in days gone by, the whole of Leeds used to come here on a night and we all have blurry memories of good times!
Speaking of the weather, we made time to nip across to the shelter of Leeds University for a few more portraits in the dwindling evening light. There are great photos to be had around the university with it's urban angles and lighting. We love what we came up with whilst raindrop dodging!
As evening set in, the games room went down a treat, with young and old having a pop at twister - always good for a laugh after a few drinks! By the time Rachel and Lance's first dance rolled around, all their family and friends gathered to watch the newlyweds take their first spin on the dancefloor for a magical end to their day.
