Leeds Civic Hall Wedding - Tara and Dan

I love how Tara and Dan’s day was just so perfectly them. Not ones for a huge fuss they simply wanted to celebrate their day with the people they loved the most. They were originally due to hold their wedding ceremony at Leeds Town Hall however it is under renovation so all weddings have been moved to Leeds Civic Hall - a building that, personally, we find far prettier than the rather more imposing Town Hall!

We began the day with Dan, who was over at his parent’s home. Everyone was in high spirits as they finished getting ready. There was a lot of teasing as they struggled to tie their ties. Youtube always comes in handy at moments like this! The sun was shining so as soon as Dan and his ushers were suited and booted it was time for a few beers around the outdoor pool. It looked very inviting and I definitely wasn’t the only one who wished I could have a quick dip ahead of the wedding ceremony! 

Over at Tara and Dan’s house the wedding playlist was getting everyone in the mood for the day. The bridesmaids soon popped open the fizz and they made their way out into the garden to enjoy the sunshine and have a last minute breather before it was time to finish getting ready. I love the huge smile on Tara’s face as she came downstairs to see her parents and bridesmaids waiting for her.

Over at Leeds Civic Hall Dan was having a quick peek out of the window in the hopes of seeing Tara. She arrived in style in a beautiful Aston Martin driven by her Dad. There were a few happy tears as she set eyes on her future husband and Dan was grinning away as she walked up the aisle towards him. 

Throughout the ceremony Dan and Tara couldn’t stop giggling together, and as they made their way back out into the sunshine there were resounding cheers from everyone gathered there. After a few family group photos outside the Civic Hall their guests made their way over to the reception while we hung back with Dan and Tara for some portraits around the gardens. This was their chance to spend a bit of time together before the party really got started!

Back at Dan and Tara’s house everyone was gathered in the garden, confetti in hand, waiting for them to arrive. As soon as they stepped through the door they were covered in a cloud of confetti and swiftly handed a glass of fizz! What a greeting! 

We are huge fans of chilled out weddings and this was right up our street! Everyone was out in the garden, chatting away and enjoying the celebrations, there was such a relaxed atmosphere. It was just as Tara and Dan had planned and they were over the moon to see all their family and friends together in one place. We’re so pleased they asked us to capture it all for them.
