White Syke Fields sits on a working farm just outside the city. It perfectly balances a relaxed atmosphere with rustic elegance. You have plenty of options for ceremonies. Leander and Chris got ready nearby at Sandburn Hall. Afterwards, they took the quick ride over to White Syke Fields where they got married in the fields, overlooking the pond, surrounded by apple trees. It’s an incredibly beautiful place to get married unlike any other wedding venue in York. Their ceremony space only needed minimal decoration which was beautifully done by Wild Bee Flower Farm. I love an outdoor ceremony, they’re so wonderfully relaxed. There’s nothing quite like the wind in the trees overhead whilst you get married, surrounded by nature and green space.

The newlyweds walked down the aisle and the guests gathered to shower them with confetti in front of the colourful backdrop of the pink wall. Leander and Chris mingled their way around the guests as they congratulated them during the drinks reception. I love to capture candid photographs of guests enjoying themselves. These are always the moments that couples never get to see until I send them their photographs back! The drinks reception is when I get to blend in with your guests and join in on the fun. I always balance documentary with candid photography, but I do like to get involved with all the shenanigans as it just makes for more fun photographs!
