Danielle & Iain | Westfield Farm Weddings, Malton.
What could be more fun than a DIY festival wedding on a farm in beautiful Yorkshire? Danielle and Iain had a vision to keep their wedding informal, but effortlessly fun. They combined the outdoors and informality to create the ultimate festival style wedding at Westfield Farm Weddings, Malton.
DIY Festival Wedding in Yorkshire
Westfield Farm Weddings is a hidden gem, just outside of Malton. It’s a blank canvas for making a wedding completely your own. This Yorkshire wedding venue is suited to relaxed weddings with a DIY vibe. The on-site accommodation is a massive bonus, eliminating the stresses of logistics. After Danielle and Iain had finished getting ready, they were just a short walk away from their outdoor ceremony in the gardens. There were plenty of bridesmaid’s on hand but the real star of the show had to be the couple’s dog who was the most enthusiastic of ring bearers.
Casual Relaxed Wedding Venue in Yorkshire
When I say DIY, Danielle & Iain’s families really did do everything themselves. The tipi in the field was set up for a very informal and casual drinks reception. The families had prepared nibbles and drinks themselves. After some very informal group photos, it was time for speeches which took place outside in the sunshine, with no seating arrangements, just good vibes. The speeches were heartfelt and exemplified the strength of these two families coming together through Danielle and Iain. And as formalities go, the speeches were probably about it. The rest of the afternoon was spent enjoying the beautiful weather, and the space at Westfield Farm.
Garden games at weddings can sometimes be hit or miss. Never have I seen a group of guests take to garden games with such enthusiasm as this lot. There were some seriously fought, and incredibly strategic games of giant connect four. There was jenga drama. An all-out war of a football match broke out, with the mother of the bride in goal. And then came the potato cannons! These guys got competitive, launching spuds far across the fields. Never have I ever seen this at a wedding before and sadly, I probably never will again. But it was so much fun to photograph!
Westfield Farm Weddings Malton Photographer
This was my first time as a Westfield Farm wedding photographer and I genuinely love this venue. It suits relaxed weddings perfectly. And my style of photography very much suits relaxed weddings. I love that there was such a DIY ethic that brought the families together, and that shows so much in the photographs. It is also the perfect venue to spread out, and enjoy the space. It’s honestly a blank canvas wedding venue. It’s also rich in a variety of backdrops for wedding portraits. From the clean aesthetic of the barns, to the soft elegant dappled light in the gardens. Westfield Farm Weddings, Malton offers something for everyone and I cannot wait to go back again!
